Standort: Hamburg in (PLZ ), , Bei Rückfragen Tel. +49 551/820224! Mileage:38.192 Miles /61.464 KM - One of reportedly only three DB6 Shooting Brakes bodied by FLM Panelcraft; the sole example configured in left-hand drive - Conversion commissioned by the original Texan buyer; more recent ownership in France and Belgium - Saloon base car originally finished in Pacific Blue over Beige Connolly leather; now presented in light green - Factory equipped with Normalair air conditioning, chrome wheels with three-ear hub caps, heated rear screen, engine breather valve system, Fiamm horns, and a limited slip differential - Retains its matching-numbers 4-litre straight-six paired to a five-speed manual gearbox Aston Martin owner David Brown wanted his hunting dog to ride in style and comfort in the back of a DB5, so coachbuilder Radford created a Shooting Brake conversion. Reportedly, only a dozen were made. When the outfit gave a similar treatment to the larger DB6, half as many were built. Then FLM Panelcraft of Broughton Street in London, best-known for its Rolls-Royce bodies, devised an even more practical design with a higher roof line, split-folding tailgate, and opening side windows. This design won the heart and mind of Lotuss 1961 United States Grand Prix victor, Innes Ireland. The Formula 1 driver bought the first of the three examples produced. Of the trio, only a single DB6 Shooting Brake by FLM Panelcraft was completed in left-hand-drive form: chassis DB6/2366/L offered here. The basis was a 1965 saloon ordered to North America by Mr Farrish of Texas specified in Pacific Blue over Beige Connolly leather. He commissioned the conversion; however, it is claimed that the Aston Martin dealer tasked with delivering the car damaged it, causing Mr Farrish to lose interest. While the immediate history thereafter is not clear, after a series of owners the car surfaced in a partly dismantled condition in the Netherlands. Subsequently purchased by a French collector, this DB6 was restored in England over a period of 15 months by marque specialist Spray Tec of Wellingborough. Advertised for sale in Auto Passion magazine in April 1990, it was then pictured in British racing green. Come an appearance in the July 1999 issue of the short-lived Auto Live publication, this car wore the light green hue that it is presented in today. Having been displayed at several concours events, including at Goodwood, Parc de Bagatelle, and Schwetzingen at the turn of the millennium, chassis DB6/2366/L was acquired by The Curated Collection in September 2006. Accompanied by an owners guide and concours awards, this Shooting Brake further benefits from retaining its matching-numbers 4-litre straight-six engine.
